"Creaking Ropes" presents itself as a connective piece of electronic ambient music whose basic sound is created from the impressive samples of creaking ropes. The composition is characterized by a slow, suggestive rhythm, whereby the sound of the boat ropes is cleverly embedded in a multi-layered carpet of sound. The inspiration for this music finds its roots in the unique style of Brian Eno, a pioneer of ambient music.
